Bookkeeping and Management Accounts for Product Businesses
We keep your bookkeeping accurate and turn it into management accounts that show what is really happening: which lines are making money, where cash is going, and whether last month was as good as it felt.
Most founders do not need more numbers. They need the right ones, on time, in a form they can act on.
What is included
Regular bookkeeping, reconciled and up to date rather than caught up in a panic at year end
Sales data pulled in from your channels, whether that is retailers, distributors, your own website or marketplaces
Purchase and supplier records, including stock purchases and landed costs
Monthly or quarterly management accounts with commentary in plain English
Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash position
A walkthrough of the numbers so you know what they mean and what to do next
Who this is for
Food, drink and consumer goods brands who have outgrown a spreadsheet. If you are selling through more than one channel, holding stock, or dealing with retailer deductions and promotional spend, your bookkeeping is more complicated than a standard service business and it needs treating that way.
Why founders use us for this
Your accountant has run a product business, worked in one, or built a practice specifically for founders like you. We understand stock, margins, retailer terms and multiple sales channels because we deal with them every day, not because we read about it once.
We are Xero Advisor Certified and ICAEW regulated, so you get proper qualified oversight, not just data entry.
Software we work with: Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks and Kashflow.
Pricing
Bookkeeping and management accounts start from £100 + VAT per month. The final fee depends on scope and is confirmed before any work begins.
Common questions
How often will I get management accounts?
Monthly is standard for most product businesses because that is how often decisions need making. Quarterly can work if your business is simpler or slower moving. We will recommend what fits once we see your numbers.
Do I have to switch software?
No. We work with Xero, FreeAgent, QuickBooks and Kashflow, and can advise if a change would genuinely help.
Can you take over from my current bookkeeper?
Yes. We handle the handover, review what is already there, and correct anything that needs fixing before moving forward.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and management accounts?
Bookkeeping is recording what happened. Management accounts turn that record into a clear picture of profit, cash and performance, with commentary, so you can make decisions from it.
